Dr. Gary Roubin is an internationally recognized interventional cardiologist and innovator, renowned for his pioneering work in coronary and carotid stenting. He played a key role in the development of the first FDA-approved coronary stent and has led advancements in embolic protection devices, large-bore vascular closure, and catheter-based electrocautery technology for TAVR and myomectomy procedures.

Originally from Queensland, Australia, Dr. Roubin moved to the U.S. in 1984 to work alongside PTCA pioneer Andreas Gruentzig. He has authored over 280 peer-reviewed publications, edited three textbooks on interventional cardiovascular medicine, and contributed to 20 medical textbooks. His book, The First Balloon Expandable Coronary Stent: An Expedition that Changed Cardiovascular Medicine, is available on Amazon.

Beyond clinical medicine, Dr. Roubin has played a pivotal role in biotech startups, holding 10 issued U.S. and EU patents with 41 additional patent applications worldwide. A sought-after speaker, he lectures globally and has received numerous awards for his groundbreaking contributions to cardiovascular innovation and patient care.
