Dr Dineo Tsabedze is the Head of the Nuclear Medicine Department at the Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University and the Dr George Mukhari Academic Hospital. She is also the President of the Female Academic Fellowship Alumni Association, and a Clinician-Scientist with a PhD in Internal Medicine from the University of the Witwatersrand. As part of her PhD thesis, Dr Tsabedze trained machine learning algorithms to predict the risk of all-cause mortality in patients hospitalised with heart failure. Dr Tsabedze obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Cape Town and has a Master’s degree in Nuclear Medicine, passed cum laude. Her dedication to research is underscored by a robust publication portfolio, with over 30 publications in international peer-review journals. Her remarkable contributions to cardiovascular research have been acknowledged with grants and awards
totalling over R5 million.
