He has been working intensively with the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), and is currently serving as President of the ESC. He has been Associate Editor of the American College Cardiology, and is currently Associate Editor of the European Heart Journal. He has co-authored numerous scientific articles, has guided many PhD fellows and his main interests of research include imaging in heart failure, stable coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease and atrial fibrillation.
Véronique L. Roger, MD, MPH graduated from France Medical School and the Minnesota School of Public Health. She is a member of the Association of American Physicians and Professor of Internal Medicine, and Professor of Epidemiology at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. She is a cardiologist, epidemiologist, and outcomes researcher. With an interest in the occurrence and outcomes of cardiovascular diseases.
Dr Roger has served on the Mayo Clinic’s Board of Governors and Board of Trustees and was the founding Director of the Robert D. and Patricia E. Kern Center for the Science in Health Care Delivery, which focuses on the science of best practice. She is actively involved in initiatives relevant to the research use of clinical data.
Dr Roger has also served within. the American Heart Association as well as the National Heart, Lung and Blood (NHLBI) of the National Institutes of Health.
